The two Pauls

Everyone needs a helping hand or a friendly visit at some point. BAiP’s Neighbor-to-Neighbor program, or N2N, offers the help of our carefully selected neighborhood volunteers.  N2N is our outreach to neighbors who may need assistance with errands or wish to have company for a walk in the park or a game of Scrabble.  Our N2N volunteers are also able to serve as an escort for a trip to the doctor or the grocery store.

If you need a helping hand or a friendly visit or are interested in joining our group of N2N volunteers, please call (212) 842-8831, ext. 1 or send an email to n2n@bloominplace.org.

The assistance that N2N volunteers provide is FREE to all BAiP members (although members are responsible for transportation costs).

Help us get the word out about N2N with this flyer, which you can send electronically to a friend or print out at home to share with neighbors. We also have professionally printed hard copies that you can post or distribute. To get hard copies, send an email to n2n@bloominplace.org.

As a reminder, here’s what we provide depending on our volunteers’ availability:

  • assisting members with local errands (light grocery shopping, pharmacy, post office)
  • escorting members to and from medical appointments and treatments
  • accompanying members to BAiP events and home again afterwards
  • meeting members for conversation, walks in the neighborhood or park, or cultural outings
  • checking in with members by telephone
  • connecting members to other BAiP resources that can provide technical help (the Tech Squad) or referrals to professionals and other service providers (the Resource Exchange)
